This was, by far, the greatest discovery I made during my recent road trip.

We were doing everything on the fly so, we didn’t have any hotel booked anywhere. When driving, one of us would get into Expedia using the phone and look for hotels in the place we were going. It might be vox populi and known by many people, but I had no idea about this.

When the results show up, click where it says see the deals and, powered by Hotwire, one finds a list of hotels in that area for a very discounted price. Trust me, we spent a few nights at a really cool 3 star hotel in South Beach – Miami Beach – for 50$ per night, taxes included. The catch is that you do not get the name and address of the hotel until you have payed. They do show you a map with an area highlighted, where the hotel is located.

It worked very well for us everywhere. The hotel in South Beach was on Collins Ave and Española Way, great location! Same happened in Key West, Cocoa Beach, Savannah, etc.
