I wanted to post today this video that a friend forwarded me. I think it is very interesting. In the extras of the DVD version of Chaplin’s movie The Circus – a movie from 1928 – there is some footage from the Hollywood premiere at the Chinese Theater. In the footage one can see an old lady that clearly seems to be – believe it or not – talking on a cellphone. The lady, at some point, turns to camera, realizes she is being recorded and appears to smile back to the camera.

I haven’t had the chance to check the actual footage from the DVD but I assume that the images are real. The lady might not be holding a cellphone, but she clearly look like if she was doing so. A time traveler?
