Apple recently released information on the location of its first official store in Spain. The chosen city is, as expected, Barcelona. However, due to the great lack of commercial premises in Passeig de Gracia and other main streets downtown, the store will be placed in the La Maquinista shopping center. A bit too far from downtown, in my opinion. It will not get many tourist visits but, after all, nobody goes to Barcelona to include an Apple Store in the list of places one can’t miss – unlike most Spaniards visiting NYC -.

The store is scheduled to open in September and in the following weeks another store will be opened in Madrid as well.
